Attorneys Find Security In CloudHQ's Backup And Data Loss Prevention

Security is always the number one concern when dealing with important documents or sensitive company data. There are many cloud services out there that offer good backup protection, but since when is "good" really enough? You may think that high-level encryption, daily or weekly backup, and two-step authentication are good enough and - for "most" of the time, for "most" of the users - it is good enough. But there is always the possibility that something can happen to cause data loss.

Causes of data loss

User error is the number one cause of data loss. Files and folders can be accidentally deleted or misplaced. Settings can be changed and data can be lost. Most cloud applications do have the option to restore your account to a previous time, but what if the deletion isn't realized for a few weeks or even months? It may be too late.

Wrongful account terminations from the cloud service providers are another cause. If your account is wrongfully suspected of breaking the TOS, your account can be closed and your data will be instantly unavailable to you or your employees, staff, and clients. Even if the account is reinstated, the data isn't always recoverable. This is why a secure backup in a different account is heavily recommended.

Malicious deletion is when a hacker or perhaps even an employee with a grudge gains access to the account and deletes data on purpose.

How does cloudHQ help prevent data loss?

In all of these instances, cloudHQ would prevent the loss of data. CloudHQ provides a sync between different cloud services which is useful in many situations, not just for security reasons. This makes it easy for attorneys to interact with their staff or clients on documents and files, even if they are using different cloud services. But for security, cloudHQ is practically unbeatable. By using a separate cloud account on a different cloud server for backup, cloudHQ provides the ultimate data loss solution.

If an accidental or malicious deletion occurs, the continuous replication of data that cloudHQ provides will still be intact because it is on a different account, with different authentication measures that are totally unrelated to the company information. This means that even if a hacker gains access to the account, or even if your laptop gets stolen or a disgruntled employee deletes data, cloudHQ's backup remains intact and restoring it is extremely simple.

If your account is wrongfully terminated, the data is still available to you on the separate account so you can continue working and you will still have access to your data while you work with the cloud service provider to resolve the issue. If the cloud server goes down for maintenance or other issues, you will be unable to access your data unless you have cloudHQ's backup to a separate cloud account. With cloudHQ, you can continue your work uninterrupted as your data will always be available to you.
