Contingency In The Cloud: Are You Prepared?

Picture
The cloud has opened up many doors for legal professionals everywhere, but there are some precautions that should be taken to ensure that you do not lose valuable data. The benefits of the cloud are too great to ignore but you must have a contingency plan. Data loss, while rare, could happen at any time. If you are not prepared, you risk losing sensitive law firm data or confidential client data.

Legal ethics require that all information be kept secure and confidential. Storing this data in the cloud makes it much easier to access and share but it must be secured from hackers and safe from data loss. If you lose important contracts, case files, photos or important documents, it could throw the entire case (or multiple cases) into turmoil. One of the greatest aspects of the cloud is that it protects you from any natural disasters or any other on-premise disasters, but are you prepared for a disaster in the cloud?

The top cloud contingency plan

The best way to be prepared when disaster strikes is to have a complete and solid cloud backup plan. The ultimate solution iscloudHQ. CloudHQ provides a secure cloud backup of all data from one cloud service to another. This plan uses two separate cloud services. For instance, if you are using Google Drive as your main cloud account, you may want to back up your data to Dropbox or Box. CloudHQ enables users to do this by providing automatic and continuous synchronization from one account to the other. The backup is automatic, not manual, and it is continuous so it runs all the time, constantly scanning and backing up your data. All new files and revisions to existing files are backed up within a few seconds to ensure that you are not at risk of experiencing any data loss.
